High moon cradled
in the trailing vapor
of a warm summer day
soft mist
caressing my skin
memories of fingertips
tracing lazy love patterns
distant sound of ships
calling to one another
voices in the dark
leaning in
whispering
catching the breath
the calm
surface
of the vast expanse
inviting
reflection
one gaze mirroring the other
air laden with
the brine of
life
evocative
of
the salt
of skin
a solitary shadow
ahead
familiar form
still quickens
the pulse
an invitation
to another
